With it’s crumbling German- era colonial buildings Bagamoyo is well worth exploring. Along Ocean Road there are the Old Boma’s built in 1897 and Liku House which served as The German Administrative Headquarters. Bagamoyo’s Port where you can watch boat building and a busy fish market on the site of the old slave market.
Kaole Ruins just southeast of Bagamoyo is found the most atmospheric ruins, you can also be thouroughly entertained by the school of arts students while visiting the college of arts.
Caravai Serai Museum is also a tourist attraction where you can learn about the slave trade that happened in Bagamoyo Town years ago. It is at the town entrance but back in the day that exact location was the starting point for slave and trade caravans to the interior.
